TRAIN
Woburn Sands train station is 5 minutes walk from Parklands and is on the Bletchley to Bedford line. There is a seasoned group of London commuters who get the 0656, changing at Bletchley arriving into London Euston at 0804.
In time the plan is for Woburn Sands to be part of the new "EastWestRail." This is a scheme to re-establish a rail link between Cambridge and Oxford to improve rail services between East Anglia, Central and Southern England with enhanced connections to national mainline rail services.
The ‘Western Section’ involves upgrading and re-constructing underused and disused sections of the former railway between Bedford and Oxford, Milton Keynes and Aylesbury. This is a committed scheme that is being funded by the Department for Transport and the East West Rail Consortium and is being delivered by Network Rail.
The below document was sent to Parklands residents in May 2014 that gives early details of the route and plans.
